2 Notes on my process going to the 100% raw foods world.

1) I ate dried mango from Whole Foods (low sugar, low/no sulfur) on Mon, Tues, and Wed.  Forgot to add that in cause it was at night.  I know, I know…it’s not raw.  However, I bought it to take away my late night sweet cravings.  If you’re in need of a remedy for the same…try some dried fruit.  You can usually find banana chips with little to no extra sugar on them.  That’s what I’m going to buy tonight since I’m out of dried mango.

2) I only exercised Sunday (my first day on) and Monday.  I started feeling like the inflammation in my hip that I experienced in June was coming back, and it scared me so outside of some light toning with my 5 pound weights on Tuesday and Thursday I’ve not exercised.  I think that’s important to note seeing my rapid weight loss so far.

Dr. Afrika said in his DVD that I own that if you can gain weight sitting on your ass you can very well lose it sitting on your ass too.  LOL  He just might be right, huh.

The last time I went raw I had headaches randomly for about 2 weeks.  I also experienced night sweating, “heat-like” body breakouts and general skin itchiness, and breakouts on my face.  Today the headaches started.  From what I’ve read, I understand that this comes from the detox.  I’ve been drinking plenty of water and took a nap today.  However, I must admit that I was not all raw.  I had faux chicken for lunch (Faux General Tso’s Chicken from Whole Foods).    Other than that I was raw.  I had…

  • Bananas
  • Carrot Sticks
  • Apples
  • Green Smoothie

I’ll admit I wasn’t all that hungry.  After work yesterday I noticed that unlike most of the time, I wasn’t hungry for junk and I felt the same way today.  I’m glad that I haven’t had any intense craving yet, but I’m sure that battle will come and go.  LOL  I’m in it for the long haul though.  I went to a friend’s house for a lil get together last night.  It was my first social gathering since deciding to go Raw again.  There were offers of pork chops, jambalaya and alcohol.  Even though the host is a hell of a good bartender…I said not to all of the offers of food and “liquid courage”.  🙂  I was very very proud of myself.

I also got the DVD and CD I ordered from Dr. Llaila O. Afrika about Weight Loss and Obesity that I ordered.   I love his Afrikan Holistic Health book.  I’m looking forward to hearing his advice on health and wellness through eating.  He has a very, very radically Afrocentric message.  I’ll let you know what I think.
