I did find your site after searching for African American raw foodists. I am looking for like minded individuals and would love to be a part of a virtual or face to face group for support. I’ve been in and out of raw foodism for the past eight years and I’m ready to take the 100% plunge!

Comment on Day 2 – The Upcoming Storm… by Dea http://www.urbanrawfood.com/shop/day-2-the-upcoming-storm/#comment-104 Tue, 04 Dec 2012 03:12:19 +0000 http://www.urbanrawfood.com/?p=342#comment-104 Congrats,
eating raw is challenging, and you have to be strong mainly becuase we are bombarded by food options even healthy ones that have cooked or proteins. I eat a mostly raw diet and then when I do have cooked I try to make it very high quality, local, organic, thoughtfully made. It’s expensive but so worth it. One of the hardest things after the social aspect is eating enough calories, I tend to under eat and that is a trap, other than nuts and seeds and oils, most raw plant based food is very low in calories, good luck! Glad you are blogging about it.

When I’ve gone on raw food for only a few days, I can literally smell caffeine in drinks, and most of the green teas I’ve tried tend to have caffeine in them.
